A couple of years ago during the holidays, for the adults I made a Spiked White Hot Chocolate, which is a family favorite. This year, I decided to switch it up and use dark chocolate instead and the results were delightful. Whether you like your hot chocolate simple or topped with marshmallows, there’s no doubt that this delicious drink is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season.

Dark Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 2 cups Almond Milk you can use your preferred milk
- ½ cup Half & Half can be omitted
- 1 bar 70% Dark Chocolate rough chopped
- 4 tbsps Cocoa Powder
Garnish
- Marshmallows optional
- Red Sugar Sprinkles optional
Instructions

Pour almond milk and half & half in saucepan and put on stove over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil. Almond milk can boil over so make sure you watch carefully.

While waiting for ingredients to boil, rough chop dark chocolate

Rim mug with sugar sprinkles

Place chocolate pieces in mug

After a 2 mins has passed, sprinkle cocoa powder in the sauce pan with milk mixture.

Once the milk mixture has come to a boil, remove pot from heat.

Pour over in mug with chocolate pieces.

Stir ingredients together until well incorporated

Top with marshmallows and sprinkles (optional)
