In the beginning of the week, things were “Rocky” (pun intended) between Dolph Lundgren and Sylvester Stallone. Stallone was heated after getting wind that a Drago spinoff was in the works. He took to social media and called out the producers who have “exploited” the franchise he created.
He expressed his outrage on an Instagram post Saturday saying:
“Another Heartbreaker… Just found this out… ONCE AGAIN , this PATHETIC 94 year old PRODUCER and HIS MORONIC USELESS VULTURE CHILDREN, Charles And David, are once again picking clean THE BONES of another wonderful character I created without even telling me,” Stallone wrote.
Despite his objection to the project, Stallone made it clear that he has no ill will towards actor Dolph Lundgren, who portrays Ivan Drago in Rocky IV and Creed II and is on board for the latest installment. But the 76-year-old shared he wishes Lundgren had informed him of the latest development.
“By the way, I have nothing but respect for Dolph but I wish HE had told me what was going on behind my back,” he added. “Keep your REAL friends close.”
Dolph caught wind of Stallone’s objection and reached out to clear the air. Press play for more of the story.
