We’re taking a look back at some of our favorite interviews from 2022. Last year was a big year for us when it came to interviews! We got to interview a lot of A-Listers and hear from some incredible people.
One of our favorite guests from 2022 was undoubtedly Samuel L Jackson, the famous actor. Samuel was doing a press run for The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, and we loved getting to know more about why he chose that role. We also explored the depths of family dynamics with elderly loved ones.
In Feb 2022, Tyler Perry reemerged with everyone’s favorite character in Tyler Perry’s A Madea Homecoming, which debuted on Netflix. We chatted with Tyler about the film and his hilarious memes surrounding the film. 
Erika Alexander teamed up with Audible, Kevin Hart, and Charlamagne Tha God’s SBH productions to present their debut Audible Original Finding Tamika in March. We chatted with the actress about how she got to be apart of this true crime series, the importance of telling this story, and what others can do to help. 
On March 11th, Apple TV dropped the highly anticipated The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey starring and executive produced by Samuel L. Jackson. The superstar sprung into our hearts in this role and we were excited to talk to him about the film. 
The Bust Down cast includes Jak Knight, Langston Kerman, Sam Jay and Chris Redd as four casino employees living dead-end lives with dead-end jobs in middle America, and the massive mess they manage to make out of it. The new unconventional comedy series premiered on Peacock March 10th and we were thrilled to chat with the cast. That’s why it was so heartbreaking when months later cast member Jak Knight passed away. 
In April 2022, The Devil You Know, which Omar Epps executive produced and starred in, premiered in AMC theaters around the country. We enjoyed chitchatting with Omar to discuss his role acting in and executive producing this film. 
Hulu’s five-night event surrounding the true crime series Candy, premiered on May 9. Candy Montgomery was played by Jessica Biel and a star-studded cast. Jessica opened up about playing such a complex character and working alongside her husband. 
We capped the end of the year off with an interview with Isaiah Washington. The former Grey’s Anatomy star was in Chicago promoting his new film ,Corsicana.
Nekia has learned a lot from her years of interviewing, but one of the most important things she’s learned is to be prepared for anything. You never know what a guest will say or do, so it’s important to always be ready for anything.
