Shrimp Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cups White Rice 1-2 days old
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 10 Shrimp peeled & deveined
  • 3/4 cup Bean Sprouts
  • 2 tsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1-2 tsp Light Soy Sauce depending on your salt level
  • 1 clove Garlic optional
  • 1 Green Onion white and green part
  • dash Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Make sure all ingridents is prepped

  2. Add 1 tbsp of oil and heat wok/skillet on medium-high heat.

  3. Cook scramble egg. Set aside

  4. In the same pan, add the other 1 tbsp of oil. Cook shrimp in the pan for 1-2 mins or until they turn pink. Set aside

  5. In the same pan, drizzle with a little bit of oil and add green onions (white part only) and garlic. Cook for a few seconds or until fragrant.

  6. Incoporate the white rice into the pan and mix with the green onions and garlic. Let those three ingridents cook for a few seconds.

  7. Add dark soy sauce and stir fry for a few seconds then add light soy sauce.

  8. Now you can add the cooked shrimp and eggs. Mix together continuously.

  9. Once all the rice is evenly brown, you're getting close to the end of cooking.

  10. Before removing from heat, add bean sprouts and green onions

  11. Plate up & Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

*** The meat can be substituted for anything that you like. This recipe is also vegan friendly, you can also omit the meat and just make a vegetable stir-fry. 

*** If you do not have dark soy sauce on hand, you can always use the packets that you have lying around the house from Chinese take out. Dark soy sauce can be purchased at your local Asian market. Using it will allow you to get the color/flavor that you're looking for in this dish. 

*** You can substitute the soy sauce for Braggs Liquid Aminos. However, you will notice an alter in taste.
