I love a good full‑circle moment and this one feels extra special. On Friday, February 27 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM CST, I’ll be joining DePaul University for a Virtual Career Exploration Trek and I cannot wait to pour into the next generation of media and communications pros.

If you know me, you know I’m all about sharing the real behind the scenes of this industry. The wins, the lessons, the pivots, the glow ups. During this session, I’ll be giving students an inside look at how I built my brands Nekia Nichelle LLC, The N Brand Agency, and Just N Life. We’ll talk about how media is evolving, how to stand out in a crowded digital space, and what it really takes to thrive in PR, advertising, content creation, and entertainment.
But here’s the part I’m most excited about. My team will be joining me to share their own experiences. These are the people who help bring the vision to life every day. Students will get to hear from the folks working in PR, social media, writing, and web development. They’ll talk about their roles, their day to day, and the skills that help them shine. I love giving students access to real voices and real stories because that’s where the best learning happens.
We’re also hosting speed networking sessions. Think of it like a mini power hour where students rotate through small groups and get to ask questions, make connections, and get comfortable talking to industry professionals. Networking can feel intimidating, but once you break the ice, it becomes one of your biggest superpowers.
This trek is perfect for students studying journalism, media, advertising, PR, social media, marketing, writing, publishing, IT, and anything in that creative‑tech‑communications universe. Space is limited to fifty students, so those who get in will have a more intimate and impactful experience.
And since my companies are currently hiring, this is also a chance for students to learn about potential opportunities and see if they might be a good fit for our team.
Partnering with DePaul is an honor. I’m passionate about helping young professionals find their lane, build confidence, and step boldly into their purpose. I can’t wait to connect with these students and hopefully spark something that carries them into their next chapter.
