A couple week ago, I met The Boy Illinois during Lalapalooza weekend. It was at Sway In the Morning‘s live broadcast. He was actually there performing before Phor (Black Ink Crew Chicago).
The Boy Illi is a local rapper in Chicago. He has been making waves throughout the city impressing the likes of: Lupe Fiasco, Sway and Wyclef Jean. His recent project, DUSABLE, has several industry insiders taking notice. The rapper composes and delivers lyrics with a raw unabashed eloquence.
His vibe exudes intelligence, power and talent. That’s why it was mandatory for me to have a sit down with him. We talked about politics, his music journey and working with Lupe Fiasco.
